Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the GeoQuiz: Flags & Capitals mobile application (the “Application”) for iPhone and iPad. By downloading or using the Application you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.

Licence

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Application on devices that you own or control, for non-commercial personal use only.

You agree not to: (a) copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Application; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code; (c) create derivative works; or (d) remove or alter any proprietary notices. All trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the Application remain with the Service Provider.

Free tier and advertising

The Application is offered as a free download. The free tier is supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob (banner, interstitial and rewarded formats). By using the free tier you agree to see these ads. See our Privacy Policy for details on how ads work.

Premium subscription

The Application offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (“Premium”) with monthly, quarterly and yearly plans. Premium removes ads and unlocks all Journey stages. Specific prices are shown in the App Store listing and inside the Application before purchase.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Renewal is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple per the App Store terms.

Educational content

GeoQuiz is an educational quiz. We make a reasonable effort to keep country data, flags and capital cities accurate, but we do not warrant that the content is free of errors or fully up to date. The Application is not a substitute for authoritative geographic, political or legal sources, and you should not rely on it for academic, professional or legal purposes.

Your device and connectivity

Some features require an internet connection (ads in the free tier and Premium status synchronization). You are responsible for any mobile data charges incurred while using the Application, including roaming charges. The Application is not responsible if it does not function fully when offline beyond its supported offline scope, or if your device runs out of battery.

We strongly discourage jailbreaking or otherwise modifying your device, which can compromise security and cause the Application to malfunction or fail to launch.

Updates and availability

We may release updates from time to time. You agree to install updates when offered, as older versions may stop working. We may also change, suspend or discontinue the Application at any time without notice. Upon discontinuation, the licence granted under these Terms ends and you must stop using the Application.

User content and account termination

You are responsible for any content you submit through the Application, including your display name (nickname), avatar selections, and any messages or reports you send to us.

You agree not to use a display name or other content that:

• contains profanity, slurs, hate speech, sexual content, or violent threats;
• impersonates another person, brand, or our team (including names such as “Admin”, “Moderator”, “Support”, or “GeoQuiz”);
• contains URLs, contact information, advertising, or links to external services;
• promotes illegal activity, harassment, or discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
• infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.

We use automated filters and may also perform manual review to enforce these rules. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to:

• replace or reset a display name we consider inappropriate;
• remove a user’s entry from leaderboards or other public surfaces;
• suspend or permanently delete an account that violates these rules or that we believe is being used in an abusive, fraudulent, or harmful way.

Account deletion under this section is final and may result in loss of progress, achievements, and any associated data. We do not offer refunds for subscription periods cut short due to a violation of these Terms; where a refund is legally required it will be handled by Apple per the App Store terms.

If you believe another player’s display name or behaviour violates these rules, please contact merbelcorp@outlook.com so we can review it.

Third-party services

The Application integrates with third-party services, including the Apple App Store and StoreKit, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and Expo. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, listed in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Application is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Application.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
